I have had a stock 69 bronco for about 20 years and it has started bouncing violently in the front end when I go over a bridge or hit a pothole above 35 mph. The steering wheel goes crazy until I hit the brakes and get it below 35mph. I have replaced the shocks and everything seems tight in the tie rods ect. The steering stabilizer has a little freeplay when I shake it side. The steering wheel has a bit of play but just the normal 4" for an old bronco.
Any ideas?

Sounds like track bar bushings to me. Fairly cheep and easy to replace.

No more bucking bronco. Turns out the steering stabilizer shock was wasted and some slop in the drag link bushings. Now the front ends aligned and good for another 39 years.

Never heard of a "drag link bushing", Tie Rods ends are used on the drag link.
You might consider that the problem with the stabilizer was just a symptom of something else wrong, like the track bar bushings.
But I'm glad you got it worked out.

I'm with Hope...it is your track bar bushings.... the steering stabilizer will hide a problem but then go out quicker due to the increased strain.

It doesn't hurt until the bone breaks through the skin...

my 67 used to do the same thing, and it was the trac bar bushing, I just bought a whole new trac bar and bushings and painted it black, the other looked like a pretzel, and the bushing from the previous owner was a 2x4 jammed in the trac bar bracket

just check out the user name <<<< haha
